Bose® CineMate® Digital Home Theater Speaker SystemVery satisfied. Delivers all the theatrical sound you need to feel like you are in a real theatre. Surround sound out of just 3 speakers beats the clutter anytime.
I have this Bose system and it works great. I love the sound for movies and music. A+
otherwise, it's not very special. So a 2.1 system is just what the doctor ordered.
But it is definately not worth the $1,000 price tag. So I figured I would buy the Cinemate speakers for under $400, connect it to my Samsung plasma, and use my Playstation 3 as a blu-ray player instead.
I initially walked into Best Buy and fell in love with the Bose 321 system. My living room is not very large and I did not have the need for a 5.1 speaker system.
Setup was quite simple; just follow along with the dvd and you'll be fine. This system is great for my purposes.
The sound quality and clarity rocks when you turn it up loud. All in all, if you would rather not bother with running wires across your room and you want good sound quality from a premier brand then this is the system for you.
I connected this system to my Samsung LED TV audio out. At one or two times virtual surround also worked pretty good. In the end I thought that the people who gave this product a bad review might have been expecting bit too much out of it and because it is a bose it must be good. Before investing money on this product I read almost all the reviews out there. Bottom Line. For movies I'm pretty happy with this.
Because I've invested so much money on this I keep on trying to convince myself that this is good.
It is a fixed output so you cannot do anything with the audio signal that TV was sending to speakers.
The Universal remote is a crap.
Most of them said good things but some were displeased.
I think this would have been a good system (as it has good solid speakers) If somehow I could have manipulate the audio signals coming out from my TV.
My initial impression of this product, I've made a big mistake.
Bass was very low and the system was not at all tuned to my liking (I don't like lot of bass or treble).
It works perfactly with my comcast settop box (which I hardly use) but misses few key functionality for my Samsung TV and B-ray player (like pause and A, B, C, D buttons).
If you can customize the audio out of your TV, then you can give this a try, otherwise dont even think of wasting money on this product.
I did not give it 5 stars only because the original remote that came with it did not work on my Sony blu-ray player. I've watched blu ray blues / rock concerts (huge Clapton fan) as well as jazz concerts (Diana Krall) and if I close my eyes, they sound like they're in my living room.
I don't want to say one can NEVER go wrong with Bose, but they come pretty darn close to it. I have had the Bose Cinemate for about 3 months now, and I am very pleased with the sound coming out of it.
While others have commented that the base is "in and out" at times, I am comfortable raising the volume level a notch or two to feel it. I also have my ipod hooked up to their Companion 2 speakers and they too are amazing.
Back to the Cinemate. Make no mistake they do not sound like 5.1's but that comparison does not make sense, to audiophiles or not.
I called their CustServ, who was very, very helpful and sent me a new one FREE within one week, and I'm in business. My next speaker system with be a 5.1, but will still be a BOSE system.
